1922年，俄共（布）经过精心准备，发起了一场驱逐旧知识分子的运动。这场运动是布尔什维克党镇压反对派行动的必然延续，是苏维埃意识形态建设的组成部分，对布尔什维克党与知识分子正常关系的建立产生巨大的消极影响。驱逐运动以人文和社会科学学者为主要打击对象，70余名俄罗斯传统思想和文化的优秀代表被迫离开祖国，而俄共（布）期望的知识分子无产阶级化并没有出现。政治上的不信任和长期的意识形态钳制，制造了苏联特有的“夜间人”现象。

In 1922, the Russian Communist Party (Bolsheviks) launched a campaign to expel old intellectuals after careful preparation. This campaign is a natural extension of the Bolshevik Party to suppress the opposition, and a part of the Bolshevik Party’s ideological construction. It has a tremendous negative impact on the establishment of normal relations between the Bolshevik Party and intellectuals. The campaign mainly aimed at expelling scholars in the field of humanities and social science, among whom more than 70 excellent representatives in Russian traditional thinking and culture were forced to leave their motherland, and actually the proletarianization of intellectuals did not appear as the Russian Communist Party (Bolsheviks) had expected. Political mistrust and long-term control of ideology led to a unique “night people” phenomenon in the Soviet Union.
