European security system in post-Cold War period has evolved into a delicate structure of “bidirectional imbalance”. In this context, the issue of European Missile Defense, which began in 2002, has become a political contest between the United States and Russia, which was linked to the construction of the future European security system. After the policy adjustments of Bush and Obama Administration , the United States and Russia established general direction of the cooperation marked by the 2010 NATO Lisbon summit. It can be predicted that after the end of the 2012 presidential elections, new leaders of the two countries will continue to negotiate the issue and the there is a great possibility to reach agreement in their negotiations. 【Аннотация】После Холодной войны в европейской системе безопасности сформировалась тонкая структура «двунаправленного дисбаланса», в таких условиях сформировавшийся в 2002 г. вопрос ПРО в Европе превратился в политическую борьбу между США и Россией, связанную с построением будущей европейской системы безопасности. После корректировок политики правительств Буша и Обамы Соединенные Штаты и Россия установили общие направления сотрудничества, отмеченные Лиссабонским саммитом НАТО в 2010 г. Можно предсказать, что после окончания президентских выборов 2012 г. новые лидеры двух стран продолжат вести переговоры по данным вопросам, и вероятность успеха переговоров велика.
