Abstract

Since the collapse of the USSR at the end of 1991, scholars have analyzed reasons of this historical event from different perspectives, among which ideological analysis has taken a prominent role. However, all these analyses are trapped in tautological defaults. On the other hand, those analyses based on certain facts, usually stops at so-called hind-sighted description, failing to provide effective explanations. So, from the perspective of social sciences, what on earth does the collapse of the USSR mean? Max Weber has offered us a unique perspective in his essays on Russian revolution.
